Parallel Development
After establishing a solid direction for both faces, the sans and display versions were developed in tandem. Again, the E was given special attention because of its high frequency within the event title and the English language.

This screen grab from Fontographer shows the progress of the E. Initially, the middle arm of the left E was recessed to add a bit of style to the form. Eventually, I ran into spacing and letterfit problems and opted for a longer arm. The sans version in this image does not yet have the correction included, but the display version (on the right) is corrected.
