Ideas for Display Version
After getting a rough working version of the sans form, I made several quick variations that would eventually form the display version. Much attention was given to the frequency of letter forms within the event title (Twin Cities Design Celebration 2003). For instance, E occurs four times and C occurs twice, making them perfect candidates for extra attention.

The “AB” pair in this image was part of an early idea to include a unicase. The uppercase C and E (inspired by an old, failed unicase) of the display version took shape in these drawings as well.
