Minneapolis and Saint Paul are old river cities along the Mississippi. Though geographically separate, the two cities are so close they are often thought of as the same area. Most people simply refer to them as the Twin Cities.
So, how can a typeface be an accurate representation of the Twin Cities? Early on, I concluded that basing my design on the historical lettering associated with the two cities was too simplistic a conclusion. In turn, I researched the formation of the Twin Cities and pursued an approach based on this research.
