Putting the early drawings aside, I struck out in another direction. This time, my obsession with Monotype Grotesque got the better of me and soon suffocated any chance for an original design. Looking back, I’m still interested in the text figures (old-style numerals) and speculative italic. Also of note: the ever reoccurring unicase rears its head in the lower right of this image. This would later influence the direction of Locator Display.
