The features and language support built into OpenType fonts are software dependent and require programs built for the format. Below is a summary of the changing field.

Software With Language Support
There are many basic software programs that recognize the extended language ability of OpenType fonts by allowing access to characters with Unicode assignments. These programs currently do not allow access to features like small caps etc.

TextEdit
Publisher
Keynote
Notepad

Software Not Supported
There exist several older software programs that display the first 256 characters of an OpenType font while ignoring the remainder of the character set. The Process Type Foundry does not support these programs with our OpenType fonts.

Macromedia Freehand - all
