Sunday

Commisioned by New York Times Magazine art director Arem Duplessis and deputy art director Gail Bichler, Sunday is a family of sans serifs for heads, subs and short text. Arem and Gail had been using our fonts Locator and Klavika for other jobs and wanted something between the two to complement the duo of Stymie and Cheltenham already in use by the magazine.

Given the parameters of the magazine it was agreed Sunday was to be stackable, classic, versatile, crisp, super thin, super fat and in the neighborhood with that wonderful Stymie ExtraBold Condensed.

Sunday is exclusive to the New York Times until 2010.
